About me
I lead Lod with one conviction: a city is judged by the order of its streets and the dignity of its people.
Born in Lod in 1975 to a family of Moroccan immigrants, I served as an officer in IDF Unit 8200 before becoming an attorney, graduating from Bar-Ilan University. In 2013 the people of Lod sent me to lead their city.
Since then I have ended seven years of state receivership, restored order to a mixed city that many had written off, and set in motion one of Israel’s largest urban renewal and transit programs. Re-elected in 2018 and again in 2024, I make the same case every day: Lod deserves strong, unapologetic leadership.
Journey
From the streets of Lod to the mayor’s office, my story in my words.
1975
I was born in Lod to a family of Moroccan immigrants and raised in a traditional, patriotic home in the heart of the city.
